Seeing if anyone checks out that Friday Night Lights. That just might be the best show on TV, and on one talks about it. It's so real, and I love the characters, and the writers do such a great job developing the characters, so you can enjoy the ride. The storyline is great. Acting is great. And you can't get enough watching it. I watch alot of it online, because it comes on Friday Nights, which suck, but I don't miss an episode. A must see if you haven't tried it out.
Nip Tuck is one of my favorites. What else can be said about this show. It pushes the envelope every show, and you have to love the characters, Sean and Christian. I didn't watch this show as much in the beginning, but I took at face value. I thought it was about glorifying plastic surgery, but it's anything but. It really shows the dark side of plastic surgery. Plus some great sex seens for cable TV. A definite must see.
Can't wait until lost on Thursday!

i watched Nip/Tuck when it first came out, but around the middle of season two I was too busy to keep up. Just before christmas I saw seasons 1-3 at best buy for 15 a piece so got all 3. Watching season 4 now. I think the show is in season 5 though.

sav, i want to check out friday night lights. looks like a real good show from the only one episode i saw, but i was impressed. but speaking of TV, i have just been completely engrossed in the wire, which i just started getting from netflix. over the past month and a half i've seen from the beginning of season 1 up until halfway towards season 3 and still have a bit to go. the wire might be the best tv show i've ever seen, so i have to keep going with that, but friday night lights is definitely on my list.
others on my list to catch up on include deadwood, flight of the conchords, arrested development and the bronx is burning.
nip/tuck i haven't watched, but i'd like to watch it and try it out.

I love Friday Night Lights too. It's excellent all-around.
I haven't really liked any new shows that came this season. I've been watching Chuck now that How I Met Your Mother isn't on.
House is still the best show on TV (although HIMYM is my favorite). NCIS is my favorite and now only crime show I watch. Heroes had such a bad half a season. Began picking up steam but honestly, they can't do anything that the 4400 haven't done and I called the finale completely.
Lost is back this week. I'm excited cause the writer's strike has caused nothing new being on TV.

Yeah John, I just started getting into the wire, and damn, that's a great show. I have to start watching from season 1, because that's a series I can't miss. I'm glad to see someone who likes the 4400. I love that show, and it's a great summer series to hold you over for the fall series. And damn, Isabelle has to be the finest chick on TV. I'll marry that woman, fuck. I think we'll probably be talking alot about Lost on this tread. I love discussing that show, and you talk about a show that had a bad stretch about a season ago, I was getting hella pissed because they weren't telling us shit. But now, the show has picked up, and ready to find out what's happening. BTW, does anyone watch the VH1 dating shows (rock of love, new york, and flavor)? You talk about a guilty pleasure, I can't get enough of it, when it is such trashy TV. Am I wrong for that?

Yeah John, I just started getting into the wire, and damn, that's a great show. I have to start watching from season 1, because that's a series I can't miss. seriously, i've never been into a show as much as i've been into the wire. i was really into 24 a few years back, but i lost steam with it, and compared to the wire, 24 doesn't come anywhere close and i don't think too many dramas ever could. i would have to say that the wire is one of, if not the best show, on television today. every single character, and there are TONS on the wire, are all incredible actors and the characters are all so well developed and introduced, it's simply amazing. never, in two plus seasons that i've been watching has it dropped off with great writing, gripping plots and storylines, very plausible scenarios, fairness to all sides and terrific acting.

I've been watching Chuck now that How I Met Your Mother isn't on. only time i've seen chuck was last week, by mistake, and i have to admit, i thought it was pretty funny. not so sure i buy into the whole special agent thing, but for the comedy aspect, it was definitely worth watching. is that a new show?

I agree with you definitely about the Wire, but don't you dare talk shit about 24 lol. That is the ultimate show, and Jack Bauer might be the great character in the history of TV IMO. You talk about a show with everything you can ask for in a TV show, 24 delievers. I don't think there has ever been a bad season, but personally, the 2nd season was the best with Haysbert as President Palmer, and the nuke. Excellent excellent show.

Yeah, it's one of the many new NBC shows. It's by no means realistic (not to spoil but this villain was a genius and he designed everything and he designed a car that could turn into a transformer pretty much haha) but I like the humor, especially from the character John Casey.
I forgot to mention The Office. Probably the best comedy on TV (outside of HIMYM) but it really shot itself in the foot with hour long episodes early and then nothing else. That's why I forgot it. I've been watching some 30 Rock on the weekend. Didn't really like the 1st half of the 2nd season but I like it now.
And sadly, I don't watch The Wire even though it's set in my home city. I might pick it up on DVD over the summer.
Monk and Psych are back on. I love Monk but I used to only watch it on DVD. Psych is good but I'm not really into it. Missing an episode to me is nothing.
And yeah, Lost has disappointed me since the beginning of season 2. Even the finales that people hail weren't that great. Pick any one episode from season 1 and it's better than those finales. But I've gotten this far, might as well finish it. Plus it's gotten a little toooo crazy just like 24 (I will NOT watch this season even though Jack Bauer could kick Chuck Norris' ass). It's strayed from the mystery element to the dreamlike element. It honestly wouldn't shock me if at the end, it's all a dream or that it's got some spiritual or time travel tie to it.

I haven't been paying any attention to TV since the strike
My favorite shows are the entourage, the office, house, and 24...although i lost interest in 24 after (IMO) a disappointing last season

The first 3 seasons of 24 were amazing but each season has gotten progressively worse.
And, I mean there's only so much you can do. The only thing Jack Bauer hasn't done is save Earth from UFOs. There's only so many things terrorists can do and so many reasons.
Plus Tony alive? Gimme a break!

Excellent excellent show. ok, fair enough! no, 24 is a really really entertaining show and jack bauer is a pretty great character, you're right. but i think once tony and palmer were killed, it started getting a bit too much to me. that's what i love about the wire - it's far more realistic, less comic book-ish i guess to me. i like how the main characters of the wire are still with the show as opposed to 24 where they saw the need to kill a lot of them which i really didn't get some of the time.
