NBA TV will provide the ultimate all-access pass to NBA All-Star 2006 in Houston with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes approach through live telecasts on the league’s 24-hour cable network and streamlined reports on NBA.com, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 15, and running through the conclusion of the All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 19. The network will deploy 30 camera crews and will utilize 10 high-definition cameras to cover the multitude of All-Star events, including the East and West All-Star Practices, which will be presented for the first-time ever in HD.
In order for the network to insure that NBA fans get their all-access pass, the channel will be made available to all NBA TV distributors through a nationwide Free Preview Feb. 14-22. For fans, who may be on the move, the network will be providing comprehensive broadband news reports via NBA.com on the latest developments from Houston.
As the network’s 10-day All-Star Greatest Games Marathon (Feb. 6-16) draws to a close, NBA TV will tip off its 100 hours of NBA All-Star 2006 coverage with reports on the arrival of players, coaches and team executives in Houston beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 15. On Friday, Feb. 17, the network will begin its 24/7 coverage of the All-Star festivities when its signature basketball news and information show NBA TV Live broadcasts from the George R. Brown Convention Center, site of the 2006 NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by Nokia, the world’s largest interactive basketball theme park, and the NBA TV All-Star 2006 studios. NBA TV’s Andre Aldridge and Rick Kamla, along with Frank Isola of the New York Daily News and Peter Vecsey of the New York Post, will anchor the network’s coverage.

In addition, the luncheon, which will features speeches by Basketball Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson and Julius Erving, will pay tribute to the Houston Rockets’ 1993-94 and 1994-95 back-to-back NBA championship teams.
