The start of Friday night's game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz was delayed by 30 minutes because one of the baskets was too high.
The rim on the north end of Target Center was nearly 2 inches higher than 10 feet, and arena workers were unable to lower it after the Timberwolves noticed the difference during pregame warmups. A crew wheeled in a different basket and the teams returned to the court 13 minutes after the scheduled tip-off to continue warming up.
The rim on the south end of the gym was also slightly off, but it was adjusted to the correct height.
