Will Bryant Be Suspended Again? Staff and Wire Reports March 7, 2007
A strange case of hoops déjà vu for fans watching the Minnesota Timberwolves steal a double overtime 117-107 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
Late in the fourth quarter, a play involving Kobe Bryant looked extremely reminiscent of the play that earned him a one-game suspension in late January.
After getting a shot blocked by guard Marko Jaric, Bryant flailed his arms and hit Jaric in the face- sending the former L.A. Clipper to the floor.
Whistles blew and Bryant was immediately called for a foul on the play.
You may recall, that Bryant also struck San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili in the face in familiar fashion with two-tenths of a second left in the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 96-94 overtime loss against the Spurs at Staples Center on January 28th.
Bryant was not called for a foul on that play, but after a second look by the league, he was suspended for the Lakers' next game against the Knicks.
Ginobili was left with a bruise under his eye and Bryant was suspended for what league official Stu Jackson called driving "an unatural motion" and "a stiff arm backward."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think its accidental now? At the time, I gave Bryant the benefit of the doubt, this hit on Jaric convinced me that the previous hit, or this one, was on accident either.

Pretty pathetic - I too gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time, but this is EXACTLY the same motion, and laid out a guy the same way.
I think he deserves a 2 game suspension for this one

Bowen does it discretely. Kobe quite obviously stuck two people in the face within months of each other.

He's one smart cookie though, he's able to get away with a lot of pestering moves (like pulling jerseys, extremely quick rib checks). While Bryant hits people in the face, then tries to play it off like he's completely innocent. That's laughable.

Bruce Bowen trying to hide his dirtiness only makes it worse.
