sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2886927Its a sad day in the NBA, I always thought Kobe would be a Laker for life like he has always preached when the going gets tough, well it looks like he has bitched out, and has had enough. Its a wrap for LA, they arent getting close to the same value, and you can bet your ass that that faggot Mitch, and most of the other LA personal will get their asses fired and ran out of LA. Discuss.

it's not a sad day in the NBA. maybe for a laker fan, but it doesn't matter too much for the NBA. kobe will be just fine, he'll go to another team and be paid just as well as he is now for being an incredible player. the NBA goes on.

The Lakers organization is screwed up. Kobe deserved better then to be lied to, used as a scape goat. The Lakers went away from wanting to win championships, to wanting to just make money. They used Kobe because they knew he would sell out games, even if the team sucked. They knew they could sit back and make money, pretend to go after players, and Kobe wouldn't say shit. That plan blew up big time, and now the Lakers are screwed because unless we bring in some real talent for Kobe, nobody will be going to the games. This is just like the KG situation, except Kobe isn't going to sit around and be someones pawn to just make money. He deserves to be able to continue to build his legacy, and he deserves to compete for another NBA championship

forgive me, but i have no sympathy for kobe. isn't he making over $15 million per year? why on earth would i ever care what he thinks? he gets paid more than enough to handle this like an adult and to put up with a little adversity. money may not buy happiness, but it sure comes close.
however, if this was 1987 or something and this was larry bird, i would be completely in your shoes and datboy's since i am a bleeding green celtics fan, so don't think i don't empathize with YOU. it sucks when a favorite player is traded away. however, it's kobe bryant that i don't empathize with in the least.

Money is money, and I don't think you lose your rights to be treated fairly because of how much money you make. If thats the case then I never want to be filthy rich. I don't feel sorry for Kobe, but I do think that he has every right to demand a trade.

oh i agree with you - he certainly has the right to demand a trade. however, the lakers have every right to refuse to trade him as well.
and we could debate the fact that if you make $15 million per year, you simply need to deal with these types of things. i would say you would for making an obscene amount of money, and you might say the opposite and i think we're both right.
no, you shouldn't have to deal with these things, but if you make more than 99.9% of people in the world, don't come looking for public sympathy either. i don't see kobe offering any of his salary back to the Lakers as a severance offering, though granted, the Lakers would never do that.

Kobe isnt my favorite player, actually hes far from it, I just feel for him because of how the Lakers organization has betrayed him. Kobe signed the extension under the stipulation that the management wanted to build a championship team, but unfortunately, like lilsims said, lakers management just sat back and let Kobe Bryant sell out games and make them money. I hate snakes...
I dont think Kobe is looking for public sympathy, and because he makes all that moeny doesnt mean he should lose that competitiveness and shouldnt cry about losing, he wants to build on to his legacy, like every other NBA superstar does, but looking at your posts you seem to understand that.
And your right, its not a sad day in the NBA really, just making it dramatic, and im sure most people thought Kobe would be a laker for life

What's funny is that he likely will be a Laker for life (or at least until his final season(s). People love drama.

Best part is Kobe got what we wanted with Shaq leaving and for Kobe to be the man.
Oh well, I guess that didn't work out too well.
He's an asshole, but a skilled player.
