apologies if this isn't prudent to put up, jason or nate, but i thought visitors to the forum might like to see what SLOR is all about and they may not know about the small SLOR link at the top of the forum and the forum might be the first place they look at in the SLO community, and haven't seen the SLOR website.
The Sim League One community has just unveiled the newest aspect of their simulation league empire. The Sim League One Retro league, or SLOR for short, has been created and the league will start with the NBA rosters from the 1995-96 season. Commissioner Skillz has brought in many qualified general managers and the league is already built for success, especially since it is affiliated now with the SLO community which also includes a college basketball and a baseball simulation league.
Skillz has wanted to construct a league like this for several months, and with many experienced and enthusiastic general managers who have been in other pro basketball simulation leagues, this is not a fly-by-night operation, but instead built from the ground up and with a stable foundation. Skillz has already planned and laid out the schedule for game sims, how many games will be simmed at once as well as seamlessly bringing in the 1996 rosters so the league will not miss a beat. General Managers have been signed to all franchises and optimism is sky high for the league. Without a game even being played, GM's have been participating in rule construction as well as already bringing about a very active league message board which is the lifeblood of any successful league.
SLOR's goal is to become a lasting aspect of the Sim League One community, and ultimately become as successful a league as the parent simulation league in the SLO community, the Sim League One X, or SLOX pro basketball league, which is about to start its 13th season of play. SLOX at least rivals, if not clearly surpasses the most successful professional basketball simulation league on the internet. While SLOR is only getting off the ground, there is no reason why its hopes should be modest with the impressive general managers already committed to the league. At one time, SLOX was just starting out but also had lofty goals. Commissioner Skillz has already made difficult decisions with the best interest of the league in mind and the goals of the league's future firmly in his thoughts.
Sim League One Retro: where Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Jason Kidd and David Robinson will again dominate the basketball sphere as they once did. And now, they will dominate a simulation basketball league, built like no other and with incomparable activity from its esteemed general managers. Kudos go out to Jason, the Sim League One community co-commissioner who designed the brand, shiny new SLOR website. It's new banner is at the bottom of this story, and it looks great. If its inception is any indication, SLOR will have a great measure of success, and could potentially help to continue to establish the Sim League One community as the standard for pro basketball simulation communities.
