Ex-NBA referee Tim Donaghy told the feds two referees fixed the outcome of one playoff series and that officials were told not to eject star players from games for fear of hurting ticket sales.
The allegations are contained in a court document filed Tuesday by Donaghy's lawyer. Donaghy said officials were told not to call technical fouls on stars, and that two officials helped extend a 2002 playoff series to a seventh game, all in the name of ticket sales and television revenue. The Kings/Lakers series was the only one to go seven games that year, with the Lakers winning games 6 and 7. If Donaghy's allegations are factual, David Stern's worst nightmares may have just come true.

Thats amazing, but this has been going on for years. NBA players arnt called for travelling because the game won't be as good. - which is corruption to me.

The NBA fixes Lakers games, in favor of the Lakers? They are lenient to the stars? No way!!! My world is shattered. Lol, I'm sure everyone already knew this or had a sneaking suspicion. Good for this to finally come out, of course Stern will deny all of it but we all know it's true. The NBA is all about making money and they don't give a shit about what's fair. You don't think that Paul Gasol deal was ridged? I'm just waiting for Chris Wallace to come out and say that David Stern put a gun to his head and made him accept that offer.

Puts the entire Michael Jordan legacy in a new light. ? If you start with the premise that NBA referees are dictated to favor superstars and extend playoff series in order to make more money then its naive to think that this practice began in 2002. Every game in which a playoff team extended the series by winning is in question as well as every superstar in league history since modern television contracts. There is/was no bigger superstar in the NBA than Michael Jordan. If you believe all of the accusation are true than I don't see how it it wouldn't impact his legacy.

Well if you go that far whos to say it doesn't ruin the Lakers Celtic rivalry? Magic/Bird was there any better 2 superstars going at it in history?

I mention MJ's name biggest he is and was the biggest money maker for the league.
