I am so angry at our goverment that I just had to write something. 700 BILLION Dollars and it does absolutely nothing for the American People.
Anybody who thinks lenders are all of a sudden going to lend people more money is fooling themselves. Once these lenders get rid of all their bad debt, they will simply tighten up their lending standards to not take any loan with a minor blemish so that they can avoid this again. While that part is good, the bad part is that people still have the same problems today that they had yesterday. Lenders aren't going to help anybody, they don't need any new loans because they got rid of the old bad ones and now will show big profits again so their CEO's can take in these huge pay checks.
When I vote this year, any incumbant is gone...out..kapput..finished. I'm so done with the them. I was once a die hard republician, yes they do not even deserve to be capitalized, but I've switched to voting Democratic. At least someone was trying to help the people (even though it was minor).
Did you know that if they took every mortgage in this country and reduced it to 80% of its value, that according to MSNBC it would basically cost the goverment the same amount of money, perhaps 200 Billion less? Do you think that would help the economy and consumer confidence? Making American families feel better about their future and it's leaders? Of course it would, it would allow all of these cash strapped familiies to breath a little easier and sleep a little better at night.....BUT
One big problem, it doesn't help the big businessmen out there that support out political leaders, and doesn't help our foreign policy by making foreign goverments made at us because of the mortage failures. Nope it doesn't do that, it would simply help American people who need it.
The goverment as it stands right now is a poor excuse for a representation. Mr Bush gets on TV last night saying this is a major crisis..REALLY? Where have you been for the last 18-24 months? It's BEEN a crisis. Using scare tactics though to prevent debate and rush some law into approval is so low down and dirty that I just can't even stomach it. I had to turn off the TV last night to prevent myself from vomiting at all this political bullshit that was being flung around.
In the history of the modern world, has one single goverment over the course of 4-8 years done a worse job at running a country than we have? Good lord, it's like we suddenly turned the goverment over to a bunch of 5th graders and said "Have Fun".
Well getting off my soapbox now...besides, I need to vomit some more.
TK..Whose ashamed to admit I voted for this administration and whole heartedly apologize to everyone in this country.
