anything goes? maybe the players health? the youths health? by making it anything goes you are giving PEDs a green light.
Im also wondering why we havent had more issues with the side effects, like roid rage or other long term effects

There not taking your typical steroids. Those have been banned from the US. They took legal drugs in the US (at the time), that baseball and the gov had no clue about. Stuff like Balco, Abdro have different side effects then your garden variety steriod from Mexico

You shouldn't expect entertainers to raise your children. Also the punishment for testing dirty in youth sports would be actually effective. Test dirty once and you are banned for life. Thats something the players union or the owners would never agree to.

The only question I have is why is there an investigation on Bonds?? With all the people being exposed, his case looks like a clear witch hunt.

I don't believe its all roids that showed that much increase in HR's or power as well. What about the fact that they lowered the mound for pitchers and made the strike zone tiny compared to what it use to be when it was a pitcher dominated game.
There is also the fact that a DH was added to one of the leagues, so specific guys only trained on mainly hitting.
Yes, performance-enhancing drugs have had an affect, but there are a lot of other things that changed the game as well, making it more offensive.
stadium dimensions are also a lot smaller now days, compared to back in the day as well.

Because he has the two records, simple as that. If he didn't have the records, it wouldn't be as big of a deal.

Not every player is dumb enough to lie to the feds. So no he didnt do what every player did or would have done. Sosa pretended that he could no longer speak and understand English and McGwire used the 5th amendment like a coward. Clemens was equally defiant and arrogant and is currently sweating it out the same way Bonds is. Its also not a witch hunt. Bonds is an obvious steroid user. Its not a witch hunt if there are actual witches to be found.

Yeah lying to the feds is something totally different. It's not a witchhunt when you lie to the feds. Just ask Marion Jones, who served 1 year for lying. Ask Lil Kim who served a year for tampering and lying to the feds. The witch hunt was the whole testifying to begin with. (which was because of the records) But the lying part is what is going to eventually land him in jail. The feds will get to him one way or another. He won't go without doing jail time, with or without Anderson. Someone will speakout at some point, or someone will slip up.
