Looks like Pac 16 idea is no longer in the works, as Big 12 is going to be paying Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, and OSU 20+ million dollars to stay per year and Texas will be getting it's own station.
This is bad news for the Pac 10, because it has quietly been in money trouble and the only team generating big money is on a 2 year suspension. This could turnaround and mean bad news for the Pac 10 if they can't somehow make this into a Power conference. They need to grab a key school from somewhere. It has to be bigger than Utah, it has to be a school that can generate revenue.

Texas is the USC of the Big 12 and has been working on their own tv stations for the last 3 years, but it really made no sense for those schools to enter the Pac 10 when Texas,Texas A&M and Sooners could have went to the SEC and make more than the Pac 10 was offering........Alone with the money issues not sure washington or oregon wanted to slide down the pecking order they would had to do if the big 12 schools would have joined....Pac 10 should have taken Boise State,Colorado,Fresno,BYu and Utah and called it a day......but they thought that this was the time to try and run over the college football green machine the SEC....Not going to happen and now they are fucked with no lube.....

So...the Big 10 is going to have 12 teams, the Big 12 is going to have 10 teams, and the Pac 10 is going to have 11?
This is shit.

I think the Big Ten only covers 10 states though, so they might be able to use that angle. Look for the Pac-?? to go after Utah to get to an even number. Everyone has completely overlooked Boise State to the Mountain West. that's a conference on the upswing, they might actually be able to get into the BCS auto-bid bonanza.

Jeremiah Maoli is a fucking moron and he doesn't deserve to be in the NCAA ever again let alone this season.

Oh sure, its a guy everybody doesnt like, so turn a blind eye to the NCAA injecting new rules into any situation they see fit. Whatever, he satisfied every single rule they set in front of him and the University but then at the last minute (4 days before our opener) they say he is ineligible. Thats bullshit.
Basically they are saying the transfer is not academically motivated, that is the main reason for denial. So are we to think that Greg Paulas transfering from Duke to Syracuse to play football (B/c Duke told him no thanks, he would have been 3rd string at best) was all about academics? Or how about George Drake, who transfered from MOTHERFUCKING Vanderbilt, to play at UAB using the same rule, again, pure academics? No. The selective enforcement of rules should bother people, but it doesnt this time b/c its not their team.

Don't see why they are stopping him from playing! It's stupid that if he meets all academic requirments and his current school doesn't want him, why can't he transfer and play ofr a school that does?
He should of transferred to a D2 school, or a school that has no visability. I think a lot of this is the higher ups in Oregon keeping him off the field. Many people don't realize this, but Oregon is the most powerful school in the country, as far as the people backing it. NCAA needs Phil Knight, there for they need Oregon to be happy

I don't care what rules they create as long as it keeps shitheads from playing college football. Usually I hate the NCAA and what they do, but I'm behind this decision 100%

There are players on teams right now that were involved in homicides and other serious crimes. If you will see the link above, they allowed a guy in the exact same situation (suspended from previous team, graduated) to play immediately, whats the difference? I will tell you what it is, its b/c he is a high profile player. If they dont let him play that is some bullshit. Lets hope the appeal works.

And I would be happy if those other shitheads were kept from playing college ball too. I don't give a fuck who it is, if you're a shithead then you don't deserve to be playing football collegiately. In the link above the guy was suspended for "violating team rules" whatever that means. Maybe he did something as dumb as Masoli, but I'm a lot more forgiving towards people who "violate team rules" than people who steal laptop computers and guitars from parties. (I know he was technically suspended for the weed, but the burglary is why I dislike him and think he should have been suspended before the weed incident.)
