Eh, I understand about avoiding the Panthers, but the stuff about the strike makes no difference. The players drafted this year will get paid. From what I understand even if there is a work stoppage they will still have a draft and if they do not sign their picks then they could just walk and be FA's. Nobody is gonna let the #1 pick just walk. Also, I could be wrong but I dont think Sam Bradford was considered the clear cut #1. Furthermore, I am not so sure that if he had come out and went to combine that he would be the #1. Ryan Mallate IMO is the #1 QB prospect in the country right now. Everyone is on the Harbough/Luck nutz right now, and he is good, but i am not sure he is clear cut better than anyone else. Also, LOL and some stupid fucking NFL team making Harbough the highest paid coach in the NFL. Are you kidding me? ?? Also, the Panthers may very well have the #1 pick next year too, that division will be bitching again so they prob won't win a division game, and Jimmy Clausen is not gonna turn into Joe Montana over the offseason of a coaching/system change. So just skipping out on the Panthers now might come back to haunt him. The Broncos will be a lot better next year IMO, they have some talent and I think they are gonna bring in a quality coach. Speaking of NCAA stuff, who yall think is gonna end up at Michigan? I wouldn't put it past Les Miles to go. Living in MS I get a healthy does of LSU media, and they seem to be wearing thin on him, and they say he only won a title with Saban's players and he cant coach. All that may be true. And Michigan is his dream job, he has said as much. he was close to leaving last time, REALLY close if you believe Kirk Herbstreit, before LSU gave him a massive contract. IN fact, his contract has a specific clause requiring him to pay 1.25million if he leaves LSU for Michigan. I think after Friday's Cotton Bowl shit is gonna get real interesting. They were talking about doing it by Thursday, then Harbough kinda fell out of the running and now its all quiet, I think they are waiting on Miles to be done with the season.

Broncos were only only an example. I personally think the Titans sign Young and draft an impact defender like Nick Farily. The Cardinals are another team who can be enjoying that number one pick

The Cardinals are another team who can be enjoying that number one pick Titans are done with Young. They announced that. No way Fisher comes back if Young is there. The owner made a wise choice. Titans might pick Mallate though.

What makes you think the Panthers or the Broncos would draft a QB in the first place? Both invested money and high picks to get Clausen and Tebow. Not to mention denver still has Orton for now.
I understand your point that they will get paid, but I believe one of the main things that is being talked about for the CBA is having rookies on special contracts like the NBA, which I think should happen, but that could mean a lot of money lost for whoever is the number one pick.
Like the NBA if the CBA agrees on special rookie contracts, I can see players waiting and seeking out other ways to get their chedder like endorsement deals and what not.

Also, I could be wrong but I dont think Sam Bradford was considered the clear cut #1. Furthermore, I am not so sure that if he had come out and went to combine that he would be the #1. Sam Bradford was the clear-cut #1 as long as he looked sharp at those team workouts that he did. Once he did that, he was the #1 pick. Ryan Mallate IMO is the #1 QB prospect in the country right now. Everyone is on the Harbough/Luck nutz right now, and he is good, but i am not sure he is clear cut better than anyone else. Dude, seriously? Andrew Luck is clearly the best QB prospect to come out in a long long time (probably since Peyton came out). This dude has it all, and while Mallet can throw it a 1,000 miles...he has very poor foot work when the line collapses on him. As we saw in that Sugar bowl, he didn't exactly finish off the game like he should have either. I think Luck's decision has a lot more with getting a degree...because if it wasn't then he would have definitely came out.

so its about that time for national signing day. Ole Miss is looking pretty good right now, but you never know until that fax comes. As it is we seem to always lose one or 4-star recruits to bigger/better programs like Alabama/LSU/Auburn on signing day. Even taking that into account we are having a hell of a recruiting season for coming off a 4-8 year. In fact, we are kicking our in-state rivals ass despite them having their best season EVER. There is a crazy remote chance that if all the dominoes fall the perfect way ole miss could land a top 5-7 class in the country.

Well I woke up this morning feeling good because I had the day off and then turn the TV on to sports center and my day went from being good to great. Being from Arkansas and watching the Ohio St players play in a game that everyone in America knew that they shouldn't played today is awesome. I know this doesn't give us the Sugar Bowl win that we should have. Jim Tressel walks around like he is some football god and like his shit smell like roses and now he is on the unemployment line so today is like Christmas! I know in the big picture OSU will be fine but its about time that some one did something to that prick and his sweater vests. Now the NCAA needs to hit them like they did USC and bring that program back to life. I know if your reading this and may come across as I'm just a hater and you would be right.....Go Hoggs!

Just bumping this, as the season is close to starting.
First of all, in regards to OSU, they got less punishment that Ga. Tech got for a guy SUPPOSEDLY taking $300, it was never fucking proven, but they say Ga. Tech was no fully cooperative. They took their ACC Title away, yet, OSU is proven they did some nasty shit, and the coach DEFINITELY did not cooperate and even made many efforts to hide it, yet they are still just motoring along. Stupid..
My team is picked to finish last in the SEC West this year, which is not surprising, as we will probably start somebody's seconds at QB again with Barry Brunetti from WV. We open with BYU at home, and while BYU should win, I am guessing that playing in MS in early September maybe be tough on those boys from Provo, we will see. We have to pound the ball and control the time of possession b/c their QB is a fucking BEAST.
So any guesses as to which SEC team will beat the brakes off whoever the rest of the country sends as their rep to the BCS title game?

GAME DAY almost here. I think it could be a rough day for the SEC tomorrow, with both LSU and Georgia losing their "big" games on TV, but whatever, the SEC will survive.
Rebels face the Storming Mormons tomorrow and we will see if Blake Heaps is all that and some like people say he is. We have to run the ball for 200 yards in order to win, and we should be able to with our O-Line. THe game is on regular ESPN at 3:45 CST. Watch, and if we are ahead like 7-0 and Houston Nutt subs at the QB position, look for me to come out of the stands and choke his ass. We were up 21 last year when he put Masoli in against Jacksonville State and we never recovered....

My bro-in-law is a huge Michigan fan, he thinks Hoke is Jesus Jr. I hope he is, b/c he is unbearable to be around when Michigan sucks, which was the case the last few years. Is it next year they are playing Bama in Dallas? He is fired up as fuck about that.
