noooo, that sucks. I was really looking forward to the lakers being a lotto team next year. Hopefully he will still go to jail.

they could, but I think they'll squeeze into the playoffs with odom, butler, grant and kobe. Along with the mailman and payton running his own offense, not the triangle. People don't realize that payton wasn't as good just because he was running the triangle, not because he's just not as good. if he gets some leniancy in the offense he could thrive again

Payton cant defend anymore though. He has no lateral defense, so fast guards will bully him.
Oh yeah, and he cant hog the ball with Bryant.
Without Shaq I wonder what a factor the Lakers can be.
And Odom will have a harder time at the 4 in the west.

i think the lakers still have a great team i was really looking forward to them losing a game to the bobcats that would be so funny... but now that thereve hung onto kobe they have a good team... good enough to make playoffs...

I think they'll make a 7 seed, Odom isn't a 4 by any means but Brian Grant is a solid 4. Odom and Caron splitting time at 3 is good, but both are defininetly good enough to be starting. If I was the lakers Kobe would be my point forward , but they still need a center somehow.
1 - Kobe 2 - Butler 3 - Odom 4 - Malone? 5 - Grant?
looks ok to me, especially if Payton opts out...I heard he didn't want to stay unless shaq was there

If the Lakers can get another big man they'll still be a pretty talented team. I think they'll make the playoffs in the deep West but I doubt they'll get any homecourt.
