how do you think Mike Montgomery will do for the Warriors? Should coach K have taken the job?
I think that Mussleman was a great coach already for the warriors, but Monty couldn't make them any worse(hopefully)

I think that college coaches can do well in the NBA as long as they don't try and make players adapt to their systems, they need to be able to adapt to the difference in the NBA.
I think that former NBA players make the best coaches because they know how to react in certain situations especially if they've played under good coaches in their careers.

Going from college to NBA is a big step they might not be able to handle it

Coach K has it made at Duke. He can recruit anybody he wants, already makes an assload of money, has all the fame and fortune without having to deal with the stress of the NBA.
I think Montgomery is in over his head with the crappy team he inherits plus the upper managements consistency of making terrible personel moves. He will get two seasons to prove himself and then he is gone.
I know many fans and the media in the Bay area believe Chris Mullin is the answer to turning around the Warriors. But the team owner is a moron who still insists on not firing Gary St. Jean. Mullins first choice for a coach was Rod Higgins not Montgomery.

I'm not so sure of Mullin's moves so far. He signed Adonal Foyle and Derek Fisher combined for 6 years at $80 million. Ouch.

I really think that Fisher is a good signing, probably shoulda been for less though. Yeah, the Adonal Foyle signing was a bit ridiculous, and I for one think that Montgomery will last for a season of two, maybe. It takes a rare college coach to adapt like cabap said. Tim Floyd is a perfect example of someone who could get it done in the college ranks, but was unable to truly respect his players and therefore have them respect him in both Chi-town and New Orleans.

we'll see if those moves are good or not, the warriors were going to suck anyway though for this year...maybe mullen's just going for making Foyle into an everyday center in a couple years, like Damp
