This guy needs to make up his mind already...............in my personal preference........i'd like to see him go back to golden state JUST TO PROVE that this year he didnt play GREAT just for the money. If he can have another solid year this year he'll be one of the most courted again next year in free agency.
If he doesnt want to go back to Golden State, i see the most sense in him going to New York. They need a center..........they have the money to court him (somehow someway) and they have the offer set. New York would have a good lineup........but would lose valuable big men in kurt thomas, othella harrington, and possisbly deke, new york would have a nice 1-2-3 punch in marbury, houston (if he stays healthy through 1 season) and Erick.
Now, another suitor would be atlanta, where erick would recieve a good deal but only about 3, 4 years to play, lets face it..............the hawks wouldnt be bad at all with a Al Harrington-Erick Dampier 1-2 punch, they'd be one of the best backcourts in the league (it may sound crazy! i know! the hawks! but harrington will win MIP (Most Improved Player) this year i believe). Erick would be the 2nd best center in the East (to shaq of course) and might get the hawks into 40 wins (that is saying if the hawks actually can find a frontcourt by the end of this free agency)
Will be interesting to see where this guy goes........
thoughts??

still have to consider the Memphis Grizzlies as a place Dampier might end up. Stromile Swift still hasnt got a deal nor dampier which could mean Jerry will pull off some kind of trade even though it is rumored Jerry will not give up stro for damp. As long as Memphis has Jerry they should be considered a designation for just about every availible player since they have such great depth and the best GM in the league.

I don't know an investment in Dampier would be like buying Junk Bonds. He has one good year then is hurt for the next 2 or 3. Granted there isn't a hell of alot of quality big men out there.

My prediction for Erick Dampier is he will be a Phoenix Sun in a three way deal.
To Phoenix: Erick Dampier
To Golden State: Glenn Robinson John Salmons
To Philadelphia: Shawn Marion
If this trade happens Philly will win the championship

Marion for Dampier WOW Marion is a top tier player that any team would love to have. If the sixers could pull it off they would definately be contenders.

Phoenix is out of the race now since the Clips aren't matching Q's offer. Either Atlanta or a S&T deal seems likely now.

Grizz are an option............they'd be a lot stronger with dampier on board.........but i see dampier heading for new york....................even though if he wanted to be on a contender it would be the grizz.

still... big ben is the best defender in the league... over 3bpg... and he was just off avg. a double double per game (12.4rpg -- 9.5ppg) and dampier avg. 12.3ppg -- 12rpg on a team with no other rebounders or scorers apart from j-rich... ben had to contend with sheed for rebounds and he had chauncey, sheed and rip as scorers..

But I think Ben is obviously much better
