Watched Matrix 4 on HBO other night. I don't know, I liked things about it, and don't like other things. I enjoyed the setup, and was digging it, but then was kind of meh with it. Not having the real Agent Smith and Morpheus was no bueno. Missed them every time I saw their replacement. The action scenes didn't really land with me. I don't know if it's because it was video instead of film, so didn't have the same look/feel, or if it just wasn't that good, or if all the action movies since have lessened the impact. I like the world though, so I'm down for 5 if it happens.

Matrix 4’s fight scenes were WWE quality. You could tell they were swinging at air. And the editing was so choppy.

It seemed to me like all of the fight scenes were shown in the trailer. I didn't feel like I saw anything new that hadn't been released already. I enjoyed it, but I have questions. I need to re-watch it more intently. I liked it better than 2 and 3, but it wasn't nearly as good as 1.

Enjoyed the new Chip 'N Dale movie on Disney. Watched Rescue Rangers as a kid and loved the Nintendo game. Was indifferent when I saw there was a movie, but then saw the Lonely Island guys were involved, so checked it out. Definitely worth the watch. Hits all the nostalgia notes, not just for Chip 'N Dale fans, but for animation fans. Has a lot of cameos from all animations, even non Disney. Even had a Butthead (Beavis and Butthead) reference.

Hustle on Netflix was good, but I felt like there needed to be a drinking game based on every time they showed Sandler's messed up hand.

Not a movie, but reading "Blood in the Garden" by Chris Herring and its got a ton of SLOR guys in there. I remember as a kid liking those 90s Knicks teams and wishing they would, FOR ONCE, beat the Bulls. Anthony Mason was WILD. I knew he was pretty crazy, but this book has some insane background stories on the team.

I really don't watch a lot of movies anymore myself. I prefer the length of a mini-series over short movies or sitcoms with like 150 episodes or whatever.
Saw the Mario Movie. First time in a movie theater for several years. Chris Pratt didn't ruin it. It was fun but not much more than that.

TV Shows>>>
But I’ve had my friends compile a list for me with movies and I’m slowly getting through it!

Doesn't seem to be as many good movies lately, plus with so many coming out, they've lost their "value." Back when there were less movies/shows/channels, everyone would be watching things at the same time and talking about them, but now with streaming, most people watch things at different intervals.
As far as recent movies, finally got around to watching the 2 Adam Sandler Murder Mystery movies. They were ok. Watchable, but nothing special. Watched Air the other night. Pretty good. Kind of has a Moneyball or Draft Day vibe to me.

TV Shows>>> But I’ve had my friends compile a list for me with movies and I’m slowly getting through it! What TV shows ya watching? Lately, I mostly agree. I'm a film lover through and through, in the theaters all the time with my wife. But lately does seem like I'm enjoying TV more. If you don't have Apple TV+ you're making a mistake. It has quickly become my favorite streaming service because its original content is typically high concept and solid. Silo, which premiered last week, is really good, fun mystery box type show that has me super intrigued. For All Mandkind might be my favorite show on TV right now. Can't wait till it gets back. Severance was great, hoping the behind the scenes talk about the second season being a mess to make is not true. Shining Girls was great. Heard Foundation is great but haven't started it yet. Not so high concept but I love Ted Lasso. Shrinking is good too. Just so many good shows on there right now. Schmigadoon is good too, if you're into musicals.

Y'all need to watch Mrs. Davis on Peacock right now. Season just wrapped, what a fucking wild ride. One of the most batshit, insane shows I've ever watched. Literally just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks and everything stuck. The description on IMDB "Sister Simone partners with her ex-boyfriend Wiley on a globe-spanning journey to destroy Mrs. Davis, a powerful artificial intelligence." doesn't even begin to do this insane, fever dream of a show justice. At this point I'll watch anything Damon Lindelof makes.

Blackbird and Ted Lasso rn Both on Apple I was watching Mr. Robot. It’s good, but I don’t think it’s my type of show. I gotta get back into the Sopranos, but it’s incredibly overrated.
