Well, the NFL season officially kicks off in just over 3 hours so I figured I'd start this thread.
Who all will be watching the game tonight? It starts at 8:30 on NBC, I think there's some kickoff special 30 minutes or an hour before kickoff. Big Ben is out for the defending champs, they've got Charlie Batch starting in his place. Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper will be making his regular season debut in Miami and it must feel like Dan Marino's walked through the door after some of the QB's they've had in there the past 5 years.
I hate the Steelers and I hate their fans, so I'm hoping Miami kicks their teeth in.
My prediction: Dolphins 27, Steelers 17

It's about time the NFL Season came!
Phins are gonna beat the hell out of the Steelers. Nick Saban's gonna have so many different defensive looks Charlie Batch is gonna wish he was on Detroit still.
I don't think we're gonna win the game, I think we're gonna use this game as a statement maker! Miami wins 31-10 in a blowout in Pitt!

Without Roethlisberger, there's no way the Steelers win.

I am still picking the Steelers in this one. The thing that scares me about Miami is their offensive line against the blitzing schemes of Dick LeBeau.

Haha! The Steelers looked pretty damned good especially there defense and Willie Parker. We've never had a RB with that kinda of speed and he showed he can run between the tackles. Cowher knows what he's doing and the Steelers depth is just disgustingly good. It's a long season and if the Steelers play a QB who doesn't make mistakes there in very good shape.

First week of the season, always the most upsets and flukes. Culpepper with a bad game, Charlie Batch with the game of his life.

I don't think Culpepper had a real bad game at all. You can tell he was real excited about playing again, so he had some rushed throws. But, other then the two picks he showed some nice touch on some throws, and he showed he can move around in the pocket when under pressure. I liked what I saw even though we lost. Pittsburgh has one hell of a defense, and for him to put up 260+ yards is pretty damn good. I think the Dolphins offense is gonna be pretty fun to watch this season.
I was pretty impressed with Ronnie Brown. He finds the endzone when in the redzone, and showed some real nice hands with good blitz pickup ability. He didn't have a bunch of yards, but no RB is gonna against that defense.
All in all, I'm a happy fins fan now.
