(1) (12) Denver Broncos- DT B.J. Raji, Boston College
I'm not really sure there was a question to this pick. If Orakpo was still on the board...I would have heavily considered him, but Raji was just too good to be passed up at pick #12. Our whole D struggled last year and we needed a run stuffer. Raji is what we need.
Other players considered: RB Knowshon Moreno (is a cutting-style running back that would have been perfect if Shanahan was still here, but still the best back on the board that is now a need) and LB Ray Maualuga (We desperately need a MLB, but I think Raji's value is too good, and we can find a LB in the next round or so...)

(1)(13) Washington Redskins - CB/S Malcolm Jenkins
He is the best player on the board and can work as a nickel CB or better yet aw a hard hitting safety. He should fill the void that has been SS since taylor's death.
Other players Brian Cushing can play any LB position and would help outside and maybe replace Fletcher inside. Rey maualuga who could be a great player but would only be a back up next year

(1) (13) New Orleans Saints - Chris "Beanie" Wells, Ohio State
This is a no brainer for the saints. The best RB in the draft, Beanie Wells should be a great addition to the saints. Saints are in need of a pure RB, since Reggie Bush hasn't shown that he is, or probably ever will be a every down back, and the Saints need one with Deuce being cut. Beanie is a powerful runner, and has great athlecticism. The only question is his durability. He got a little banged up last season, and hopefully, that doesn't translate to the pro level. But the pros outweigh the cons with this talented back.
Other players considered:
Vontae Davis
They have a need in the secondary, and he would of been a great pick if the best RB in the draft wasn't there.
Ray Maualuga
Such a great talent, and would be hard to pass up if he's still on the board, and even though the ILB is covered with Vilma.

(1) (15) Houston Texans - Rey Maualuga, ILB USC Big hitter in the outside linebacker position, the Texans need a SS but i htink they can get the best of that position in the second round, or in FA.
Other Players considered I had a really tough time with this pick to be honest. The Texas look like they could be very good for a number of years. I thought about Percy Harvin, but they have a solid group of receivers. Also thought about taking Moreno, but they have Slaton. I also looked Brandon Pettigrew a little bit, but i think the biggest need for the Texans is defense.

(1) (16) San Diego Chargers - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
Igor Olshansky left for the Cowboys and Jamal Williams is not getting any younger. Jackson is big, strong and versatile and would be a positive addition to help a defense that lost their swagger last year.
Other Players considered
Clay Mathews/Brian Cushing OLB- USC
Great players but with Merriman coming back this year the need for OLB talent is no longer

(1) (17) New York Jets - Mark Sanchez, QB, USC
No brainer pick here. The Jets obviously need a QB.
Others considered: CB Vontae Davis, QB Josh Freeman (If Sanchez was gone) and WR Darrius Heyward-Bey. All these players would fill a need on the Jets.

(1) (18) Chicago Bears - WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
Would have hoped for Sanchez, but the Bears desperately need help on offense, especially their passing game.
Others considered: WR Percy Harvin (too similar to Hester), QB Josh Freeman, WR Hakeem Nicks, CB Vontae Davis

(1) (19) Tampa Buccaneers - QB Josh Freeman
This pick is an easy one. After cutting all the main vets on this team besides Ronda Barber, rebuilding isn't a 4 letter word. Freeman (who might end up being the best QB of this draft) has an outstanding arm, as well as an accurate thrower. Garcia is gone, so Freeman will probably walk in and become an instant starter
Others considered: Knowshon Moreno, Clay Mathews, Brian Cushing

(1) (20) Detroit Lions - Brian Cushing, OLB, USC
Had to go defense here. Brian Cushing has an excellent blend of size, strength, and athleticism. He demonstrates sideline-to-sideline range and does a good job of avoiding blocks. He's had injury issues in the past, hopefully that's behind him.
Others considered: Wanted Josh Freeman, Clay Matthews

(1) (21) Philadelphia Eagles- HB Knowshon Moreno, Georgia
With Westbrook's constant knee problems and with him soon to turn 30 this September...they need a future running back and grabbing the best back off the board at 21 screams STEAL. He's quick, he can cut exceptionally, and he's got a solid build where he will be able to take the workload.
Other players considered: WR Percy Harvin (A multi-demensional player that can do it all and that's a need with WB possibly on the downside), looked at WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, but since he was off the board...WR Kenny Britt and Hakeem Nicks were possibles.

(1) (22) Minnesota Vikings -CB Vontae Davis-Illinois
Vikings are in need of quality at the CB position. Winfield has maybe another season in him but is definately on the slid. Davis gives the Vikings an hard hitting, impact, CB that should be able to jump into the starting lineup early into the season if not start the season at corner.
Other players considered...Well Vikings are in need of a OT but Oher, Jason Smith, Andre Smith, and Monroe were all taken already. Quarterback is another need but with Davis sitting out there it was just impossible not to take the best player available and he even fills a need.

(1) (23) Patriots - OLB Clay Mathews USC
The Pats will be sitting around waiting to see which of the 3 USC linebackers will be around, and they will take em. Mathews has a very high defensove IQ. What he lacks in athletisism, he more than makes up for it with his IQ. Of the three, I honestly think Mathews is the best fit to be the new Mike Vrable.
Other players considered: RB - Leshaun Mccoy, ILB James Laurinities, TE Brandon Petigrew

(1) (24) Falcons - WR Percy Harvin, UF
Very easy pick here. Percy is probly a top 15 pick but since he dropped, i have no choice not to take him. His speed and receiving ability will help the already young and talented Falcon offense as well as special teams.
Others Considered: ILB James Laurinities, TE Brandon Petigrew

(1) (25) Miami Dolphins- CB Alphonso Smith, Wake Forest
Man, Wake saw two great defenders go to the draft. They need a shut-down type CB that will get the job done against #1's. Smith fits the bells, while I was looking at DT as a need...I still feel that this team wasn't as good as there 11-5 record said. They played a ridiculously easy schedule so I thought there was some holes on this roster. But, I think CB was a must and with Alphonso still on the board, I really liked the pick.
Other Players Considered: DT Peria Jerry (would have been a very nice fit for the team as DT was also a need), WR's Kenny Britt and Hakeem Nicks (Need that physical type receiver that will get the tough yards over the middle unlike Teddy Ginn)...

(1) (26) James Laurinaitis - ILB, Ohio State
What did you expect? Baltimore could of addressed a number of needs on the offensive side, but the Ravens couldn't help but pick Laurinaitis. NFL ready last year, Laurinaitis one every award a linebacker could win in 2007, winning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, the Butkus Award, All-American honors to name a few. He was NFL ready last year (and probably should of went) and would of been a higher pick last year. But he stayed, and with a very talented draft, and not the same notoriety as last year, he dropped. But he still a very talented LB, that possess sideline to sideline ability, and excels in the pass rush. With Bart Scott leaving, with Ray Ray getting older, the Ravens definitely don't want a hole at that position. Lewis is coming back, and signed a big deal, but there is a need to groom a LB to take over.
Others considered:
Alex Mack - C, California
Ravens probably should of took this guy, with them having a glaring need at Center. But this is a franchise that prides itself on defense, and could help drafting Laurinaitis.
