and that's what we need. Fratello runs a half court game and we're one of the worst rebounding teams. instead he often plays Shane Battier at PF and Gasol at Center. Doesn't seem to help the cause.

You always agree with what the Memphis organizations does.
Not sure if what Grizz mentioned was possible, but if it was, I think Milicic is worth a try if that was the cost. Arroyo isn't bad himself although Milicic is the one with the upside.

you'd rather let wright sit on the bench and expire at seasons end than trade him for the former #2 pick with tons of potential who plays at a position we need?

this year, wright's averaging 22.2 min, 5 pts, 0.53 blocks, 4.9 reb while shooting .426 from the field and .515 from FT
with the magic, Darko's averaging 20.4 minutes, 6.4 pts, 5.1 reb, 2 blocks while shooting .561 from the field and .714 from ft. He's also bigger and 10 years younger.

with PT i think Darko could beat out Card and Warrick. Card is really just a hustle player and Warrick is a tweener. Darko has never gotten a chance to show what he's got. He was stuck on the bench in Detroit. He played well in the world championship and is playing well in Orlando with the increase in minutes. As for our cap situation, we have BJax expiring and Eddie's massive contract expiring the following year.

we'll still be over the cap with wright expiring, so how does losing him for nothing help us?

www.hoopshype.com/salaries/memphis.htmin two years the Grizz will be around 35 mil. That's if they don't trade or resign Wright, BJax, Eddie Jones, Chucky Atkins, and Dahntay Jones, who'll be a RFA or any other players. So, our team will be Gasol, Miller, Cardinal, Warrick, Shane, and Damon who will be 35. Which top FA is going to want to sign with that team? Which great players have we drafted with our non lotto picks? Troy Bell, Dahntay Jones, Warrick... So, yes, I'd rather have Darko then the Cap and Picks.

My question is, would Detroit want Memphis pick(s) knowing they aren't lotto for 3 years now? Maybe they did that kind of deal with Orlando cause they are hoping to get a great pick but wouldn't do it with Grizz.

I'm sure that was the case, which is why I mentioned sending 2 picks instead of the one. Bottomline, we've been looking for a post player ever since they moved to Memphis. The pickings are slim, so if you never take a gamble on a big we'll continue to be one of the worst rebounding teams in the league. We're playing Gasol at C, who was a one time SF turned PF. We're playing SFs at PF: Shane, Cardinal, and Warrick. We need to do something, especially if our former starting C, Wright, is not resigned at season's end.
