if Sheed or Ben got hurt you have the dependable Antonio McDyess being able to play. i'm not sure if i've ever seen "dependable" and "antonio mcdyess" in the same sentence except for opposites. 2 years ago, I would've agreed with you. But since then, it seems like he hasnt missed a game or a beat for that matter, his contributions off the Pistons bench are huge.

Im going to say Nash hands down, because he was criticized last year for winning it when everyone said he had Amare. Now he doesn't have Amare for the entire year, and he has better numbers and there team is still winning a lot of games, except losing to my sonics the other night:). Nash is clearly the man and i think that he has a good chance of winning back to back.
Who was the last player to win back to back MVP's? Shaq?

I'd vote for Dwyane Wade.
Simple logic - he's the best player, from a legitimate contending team, therefor he's most valuable.
The Lakers nor the Cavs are good enough to warrant Kobe or LeBron getting the award.
Dirk Nowitzki, Chauncey Billups, and SteveNash are in the top-5, but none are as complete as Dwyane Wade in my opinion.
Offense, defense, rebounding, passing, clutch playmaking, leadership - all things Wade brings to the table. He's the total package playing on the Easts #2 team and a top-5 overall team.

aaahhh, thx wolves i knew you would be there to point out who that was.
Yes Wade has great numbers in everything, but i don't think that they would be winning as many games as without Shaq, Zo, jwill, toine, posey, GP. That team is loaded. Suns are taking a bunch of guys that are left overs from teams and making them winners. Real props D'antonio, boris diaw was garbage thrown in for joe johnson, raja bell hasn't played this good ever. Nash is making a bunch of nobody's compete and win games in the Western Conference.
No one else is doing that. Now if there record wasn't good i wouldn't say Nash, but because there winning games that makes his vote all the better.

Fair pick, but his Heat have been so off and on all season when this was supposed to be THEIR YEAR. Just my opinion, he would be MVP if the Heat were #1 out East, sure, but now that the Heat are now hanging on to dear life for that #2 spot (Nets are getting oftly close to snatching it), I'll put him as #5 on my list.

Shaq's missed 21 games and is playing only 29 mpg.
Zo's missed 12 games and counting. and even when hes healthy is only playing in 20 mpg as a shell of his former self.
Antoine Walker is average. Sure he's an ok scorer, but he gives up just as much on the defensive end.
Jason Williams? This isn't 1999. Jason Willians is an average player, and still yet, he's missed 20 games.
Dwyane Wade has been the one consistent for the Heat this year - 28 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, almost 2 steals per game, while shooting nearly 50% from the floor. ll on the Easts #2 seed.
Steve Nash doesn't play defense, Dirk doesn't play D, Chauncey shoots 41% from the field, doesn't rebound, and his overall game isn't on the level of the other MVP candidates.
I'd vote for Wade.

I'm with Jared. Wade get's my vote.
I think he is just as worthy as Bron is. There's 5 guys who could all really get it though.

Jared off the top of your head name the starting 5 for the suns? Exactly they are far inferior in talent compared to the Heat. I don't care how many minutes Shaq is playing he is the most dominate center in the league no matter the minutes, when he is in he dominates. I think Boris Diaw even comes in and plays Center/ PF for the suns, what a joke that is.
