hornets send magloire to the bucks for mason, 2006 1st round pick, and cash. if the pick is not protected this could turn out nicely for the hornets. bucks not so high on #1 overall pick bogut i guess.

Magloire at 4, Bogut at 5? Dunno--interesting point, though. For Jamaal, it's just the ol' move from one crap franchise to another.
The Hornets are going to be athletic as crap, but I have no idea how they're going to get a rebound, especially since P.J. Brown is going downhill in a hurry.
For the Bucks, they've got a guy who could well be a dominant force in the East, but they lost some room for improvement by trading that pick--interesting move. I think you have to be impressed that the Hornets got as much as they did for a guy who so clearly wanted to be traded and who everyone knew was available.

Wow, guess Magloire is fully healed.
Mason AND a 1st round pick seems like a lot. Guess that clears up a lot of room in Milwaukee for Redd and Simmons. Mason was slated to play some power forward for the Bucks which seemed like a bad idea.

Who on earth is going to man the middle for the Hornets? Also - I didn't know Magloire badly wanted to be moved, but really who could blame him. Not only does the team stink, but they have no real home court. Nasty situation.

I love this for the Bucks.
First off, Mason became expendable after the Simmons signing, and getting a former All-Star (only one year removed to) in Magloire is a great deal, if Ford comes back to his normal self and Gad has no problems coming off the bench, I think Bucks can be extremely good this season, them and the Cavs are now so improved.

I think they did as best that they could have done talent wise, plus they got a nice #1 pick as well. It didn't make a ton of sense, but they were hamstrung because of Magloire's demands, plus they aren't going anywhere soon.

nice deal for the Bucks. Bogut won't be ready for another 2-3 years and they get an all-star caliber center in the meantime.
Thier first should be good, but somewhere around 9th or 10th...not #1 like last year

I like it a lot for NO.
Magloire wanted out. He was an all-star only cause the East sucked at center. Chris Paul, JR Smith, and Dez Mase will run an exciting fast break with Dez and JR having some nice finishes from Chris Paul dishes. The 1st should be around the teens with the team the Bucks have now. With the 1st pick, take Rudy Gay. Plug him in at PF. That would make the Hornets the most versatile team in the NBA. Then take a center like Paul Davis who's pretty versatile (I'm guessing he won't go lotto) or Glen Davis or trade up for LaMarcus Aldridge or Josh Boone or trade that 1st and use the 2nd for the 7'8" beast Sun Ming Ming. This puts the Hornets for a nice future.

bottom line is the best chance for the hornets to get an equal or better player in return for mags was to take a chance on a draft pick. that was the only choice. no team was going to offer an equal player.

I can see what you mean if youre talking about monetary value, were a small market team, but if youre talking about our team? Youd be DEAD WRONG. This just takes our team THAT much closer to being a contender for the 4 spot. As for the deal itself, Mason AND a 1st, is not a lot for a top 5 center in this league. If any of you have watched Mason play, you'd see that he is overrated by a lot of people. Mason has absolutely no jumper. He gained 15 lbs. of muscle this offseason which made his mechanic and his jumper in itself even worse than it was before. He's a dunker plain and simple. I love Dmase, because I loved watching the Ford to Mason alleyoops, but other than that, he didnt bring much else to the table. Mason is also an overrated defender. He is average at the 2 and HORRIBLE at the 3. That 1st, with the team we have now, looks to be a middle round pick somehwere between 15-22. This is a GREAT trade for us.
