You are high on crack if you think Monta Ellis isn't a max money player. He will probably get max money but if Pau Gasol is not worthy of a max contract neither is Monta Ellis. Kevin Martin money seems more reasonable. Are you kidding me? Gasol is a 28 year old softie PF who has reached his ceiling at around 20ppg and 9rpg. Monta is an explosive 23 year old who hasn't reached his full potential but is already putting up 20+ points a game.

Unless he grows about 5 more inches and puts on 50 pounds of muscle he is not going to get much better than he is now. His level of play is on par with Kevin Martin and Leandro Barbosa. Neither of which received max contracts. They are all skilled scorers who will always be a liability defensively. He is also a below average passer, rebounder and shooter for his position. Averaging 20.2 points a game doesn't make him a a max player especially in the Warriors running system. Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis score just as much and they have the size to be able to compete on the other side of the floor. Are you telling me the Warriors are suiting up three legitimate max money players yet still failed to make the playoffs? I don't know where you get the impression that Gasol is softer than Ellis. Id rather have an oversized PF than an undersized SG any day. Duncan and Garnett are both all time greats and if you look at their FG% its clear Gasol's long arms have had an impact on their usual offensive efficiency. Hes going to get out muscled by most post players but if you don't think the average SG can't do the same with Eliis you are wrong. Was there something in his 8 points, 0.9 assists .390 FG% playoff performance last year that I was missing?

Have you guys watch Monta? Ellis might be the one of the best finishers in the game, he's young, explosive, and he isn't scared to put the team on his shoulders. You guys are really undervaluing Monta, he's definitely a max player, and a franchise player. Maybe just the lack of hype around him is why you guys think that, but Monta is a great player, similar to D-Wade.
Monta>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gasol

I like the Warriors because Baron Davis and Matt Barnes are both from UCLA and their style of play is highly entertaining. They also have a very entertaining blog that covers the team. GoldenStateofMind.com. I go there every so often for Warriors news. They asked a couple of local reporters their thoughts on what Monta Ellis new contract will or should be the within the last month. Here are the excerpts.... So Im guessing the local reporters who cover the team every day must be smoking crack too

Some random Finals thoughts (mostly on the Celtics):
- I don't think I've ever seen as many lucky shots go in as in Game 6. - Great defense from the Celtics, definitely as impressive a job on Kobe as I've seen in a while. - KG showed everyone in this series why he never even came close to taking his team to a title in Minnesota. - Awesome crowd in Boston. Too bad celebrities and rich people ruined it in L.A. - Is there a bigger douche in the NBA than PJ Brown? Somebody punch that guy. - Gotta respect Paul Pierce, although he's one of the best actors and sneakiest floppers in the league. He clearly carried this team where KG couldn't though. - I can't help but feel sorry for Rondo. He looks like someone's kid brother that everyone pities and lets play with them anyway. - A Gatorade bath? Seriously? - Ray Allen, such a pretty jump shot. You can't not like him either if you've seen He Got Game. - Great season for the Lakers. Can't be disappointed getting this far with your second best player not even playing. - Radmanovic continues to be my least favorite Laker. - Since the Lakers couldn't win, it was good to see Allen and Pierce get a ring, and even KG, although he was bordering on insane during the celebration at the end.

Was KG speaking in tongues during the postgame interview? All I heard was "rar rar rar YEAH CHICAGO rar rar......AHHHHHHH!". Damn, I mean atleast show some class and do a professional post-game interview. I thought that was weird to begin with because with the exception of Game 6, KG did not play that well throughout the series. PP was deserving of MVP. I was rooting for the Celtics this series just because I hate the Lakers so much, PP is about the only Celtic I truly respect on that squad.

Funny how you guys are talking about whether Monta Ellis is deserving of a nice contract. The basic arguement that his stats are inflated and he isn't worth it. So Arenas the warriors thought the same way, oh wait he turned out pretty good, but let him go for nothing.
And what does it matter the style they play in? Pretty sure Steve Nash was let go, offered a nice contract and two MVP's later he is the the best PG in the league.
I think athletes get way too much money in the first place, but monta is just as deserving as some of these other guys getting contracts. And yes he is young and has plenty of upside.
If you haven't watched much of the finals, didn't it seem that the Celtics played better with the smaller lineups and KG matching up against the big? Pretty sure Lakers had a bigger team the whole time and where did it get them? Crying like little bitches this week.

One Time you are a rambling illogical mess. Please stick to one topic or point per post and try again.
Arenas has nothing to do with Ellis Nash is not the top PG in the league and including him as an example of playing style being irrelevant is especially dumb because his value as a player increased dramatically by joining a team in free agency whose playing style was a better fit for his skillset The Lakers were not bigger than the Celtics
