It's amazing how moralist you Americans are. We see guys that did one thing yesterday and would do it tomorrow, criticize and demand the head of their neighbour for doing it today. LOL What does me being an American have to do with anything? Should Americans be more like European counterparts and celebrate their stars no matter how morally reprehensible they are? soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=652062&sec=americansabroad&&cc=5901Good thing you guys are so enlightened and have everything figured out.

No, it's true. This is a country of haters, waiting to build people up, and tear them down. Truly sad. Especially an athlete like James who has done nothing wrong but bring excitement to the NBA.

I hate generalizations but there are a couple of things that are pretty much accurate. Americans love to be the judge of the action of others like they have the right to or like they would never do it, either it's their neighbour cheating on his wife or their sport star who screwed up at some point but you aren't really sure of the whole story. Bonds is a cheater, Vick is a killer, James is a bitch, Kobe is a rapist and so on and so on.
And yeah you picked one example out of context to prove a point that isn't even being discussed like you use to, but it's actually a good one this time. Europeans are too passive, watching things go by that shouldn't go by. Racism in soccer and society in general is a good example. But while I can't speak for everyone and generalizations are usually a mistake, I'd at least say this European is better at addmitting their flaws.

There are plenty of American on both sides of each of those issues. Just because the American media plays it up, and that's most of what you see from America, you think that ALL Americans are like that?

I hate generalizations but there are a couple of things that are pretty much accurate. The Portuguese love to be the judge of the action of Americans. They are also immune as a culture to gossip. Their farts also smell of roses.

If it made the sacred pages of Yahoo Sports it must be true.

If it made the sacred pages of Yahoo Sports it must be true. speaking of that, i saw a report a while back stating that Yahoo Sports had indeed become the number 1 provider of sports news in terms of hits, surpassing ESPN. I am not surprised, i go there first, not ESPN or SI or wherever else. I think most of it is just web design, there is much cleaner than ESPN's jumbled mess of a page, but also the stories and reporting are just flat better overall.

Not only is ESPNs site a jumbled mess but they charge extra if you want to read anything actually interesting.

Game 2 was a disgrace. I don't think I'll watch the Finals anymore after that terrible refereeing display. I'm so tired of the commentators saying how tough Fisher is. All he does is flop around the court and then occasionally deliver the cheap shot. I counted a "charge" he drew when he had one foot off the ground, and when he was chasing a loose ball he drew a "foul" on Pietrus who was running beside him. Then in OT he runs into nothing but air but somehow it's a foul on Turkoglu. Not to mention Turkoglu got fouled by Ariza near the end of the 4th quarter but hey, apparently chesting a guy and blocking his path is not a foul. That overtime period was so full of bad calls I lost count. It's too bad sucky refereeing will always be a problem in this league, especially when you have a money hungry dictator like David Stern running things.
