I have voted in the last 4 elections and for the record even with the black vote middle class white America elected him into the white house.....plus the reason why you see so many more voting ... it's the first time that the American dream included one of us...

I hear ya, I loved Obama from the start...and I was really hoping he'd get the nod over Hilary in the Primaries. I hope he can just put the next President in a better situation then this complete mess.

It's really really sad that we even have to have this conversation. I'm middle class, white American business owner and I voted for Obama the Anti-Christ I guess....I'm proud to say I voted for him. I think he can bring about change and we desperately need change.
BTW, maybe the problem with this country the past 30 years is that we always vote in these old time, long standing politicians and not the fresh face new guy. Could be that's why we have the problems we have. As a society we're lemmings, simply going in the direction we've been told to go under the blind concept of free choice.
Is it really free choice when the Democrats and Republicans tell us who the choices will be? How many of you voters researched any other canidate... Nader, Barr, any of them to know what their about? Nope we don't because main stream media doesn't give them ad time and space to get their views across. So are we really exercising free choice? Nope, we're simply lemmings following the herds.
So yes, I proud to say as a life long Republican that I voted for Obama. We need change, not politics as usual.
TK
Ps...McCain's comments of ending the politics as usual comments absolutely made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants. He's been politics as usual for the past 36 years. Now for him to even say that told me he wasn't the right canidate. I don't want a mouth piece I want someone who can think for themselves and say what the mean and mean what they say.

The first post started with humor but then it became odd with a series of strange posts. There's no nice way to say it. Anyone who can't make their own judgments and has to resort to their religious beliefs to pass a judgement about every topic is plain and simply pathetic. If you guys believe in a Creator, you must also believe that he gave you a head and in it a inteligent brain for a reason. That's for you to use it. He also gave you a common sense. Use it. Obama isn't the Anti-Christ just like Bush wasn't Evil. He was just an incompetent and dumb sob. Really, if someone posted something about how an alien came to him last night and told him that Obama was from Pluto and he was going to have his revenge for excluding his planet from the solar system, I'd consider him more sain that some of you religious fundamentalists.

I have voted in the last 4 elections and for the record even with the black vote middle class white America elected him into the white house.....plus the reason why you see so many more voting ... it's the first time that the American dream included one of us... I completely agree. But for alot of black Americans, this is one of the first times in their lives that they have had hope and and pride for something. So this is a special moment, and we have every right. But steve, oddly, I kinda understand where you coming from, because of what I just stated. Alot of black Americans have not had alot of pride, and felt that this was the greatest day of their lives and rejoiced exuberantly all over the world. It's sad, but Obama being voted president is the proudest day of their lives and many cried and were overjoyed, and they showed that alot in the media the past couple of days. But many black Americans understand this was a special day and put it in perspective, which I want to touch on a personal point. I have been a passionate Barack Obama supporter for 4 years and as a Poli Sci major, has been one of my inspirations politically because of his message and ideology is very in tune with mines. I told myself if he were to get elected, I would be very emotional, and I thought I would be overjoyed, and cry. But I didn't, and I wondered why. I just took it all in, and I was very emotional, because of the historical significance of the election, but more because of the man I have followed for a few years now, who I wanted to be president is now that. I wondered why because maybe I really didn't feel like this is something so wonderful to be so extactic about to the point where it was the greatest day of my life. I thought maybe it was because I knew that this is just an important part, the hard part is ahead, and he has alot of pressure to perform great, so this isn't his defining moment. I took that as the reason, but then myself and a co-worker was talking and she put it in perspective for me as she explained and I agreed. I have always been prideful of who I am, and as a African American, I always felt proud to be that, and always knew that I can achieve anything I can put my mind to. I never thought of my race as a limitation, because my mother always taught me that society doesn't care about excuses, so go out and get it. And I know us as black people are capable to do anything anybody else can do, it was just society that was holding us back. Alot of African Americans in this country didn't grow with that teaching, so for this to happen is something they can fathom because they have always been taught, and been surrounded about the idea that being black as a limitation. But it is not. I have always knew we are capable of doing anything. So Obama being elected wasn't so much as me for the first time being proud, but I have always been proud of my race and know our people is capable of doing anything. So what you see on TV is a reaction of that. But that also goes into the fact that many of the folks crying grew up when there was "real racism" and had this idea in their head because of growing up in that times, because it was real, and right in your face. So I definitely understand why they would be overjoyed. Obama being elected was special because he was black, but he was the man for the job. So what you see is a reaction to folks that I believe has had this notion of limitation in their head, and this is a special moment because of what they have thought for a long time. Now, I do understand Michelle Obama and what she REALLY meant, because I really feel this way. I have never been prouder to be an American in than today.

When did Bush seem like a good guy to you, Dan? His Dad sucked dick and Clinton revived our nation, and then his son was a total joke...and this is probably far from savable. I like Obama, but it does piss me off when I see all these black people going nuts when they never did in any of the past elections...hopefully Obama can get this thing on the uprise. No, Clinton was actually the one getting his dick sucked, while the Bushes, although not the brightest bunch, didn't bring personal scandals or be impeached. I'm not saying Obama is the anti-Christ, if anyone's the idiots, its you guys who are calling me the idiot. Read what I said, he has some ties is all I'm saying, but the Bible says no one knows who the anti-Christ is except for God himself. Also, grow up and just say "its your opinion" instead of "your an idiot" just because I don't agree with you. Obama is going to disappoint a lot of you guys IMO, with his promises and the "change" thing he likes to preach. I voted for McCain because there really wasn't anyone better to vote for, and he had the best chance of beating Obama. We'll see how he does, but I'm not optimistic, at all.

The fact that you even bring up the word anti christ makes you an idiot. I can respectfully disagree with people on a lot of things but stuff like that doesn't deserve any respect. Part of the reason why the Republican party got so dominated this election is because libertarians such as myself are disgusted by the power of the religious right this last decade and refuse to aide their spread of ignorance and fear mongering anymore.

How the Republicans became the party for the Christians is beyond me. Was Jesus a big fan of guns? Was he a big fan of killing eachother in wars? Was he a big fan of destroying the environment? Was he a big fan of not helping the poor? Was he a big fan of capital punishment? You guys are so brainwashed that you forget whats even in the Bible.

Lol...way to counter on that...The Bushes were both awful presidents and Clinton had a very good run (he had us in a solid situation), the only thing he did was have a scandal...but really that didn't affect shit on what he accomplished.

Can't define it any better than the expression "spread of ignorance". The odd thing about the Bill Clinton scandal is that lots of people seem to have been more devasted about it than Hillary. I couldn't care less about Bill Clinton but I would love to understand why his private life is so important to the ones who aren't a part of it.

Also, when your making factual statements on a president being impeached as your implying to Clinton, you are false, he was never impeached.
