See what I'm saying, i give facts and he comes back with this.... Rog: First, Happy birthday. Now to some stuff I'm going to say that you may not like, but please understand where I come from on this - most of it's not directed at you. 1. Religious beliefs are NOT a foundation of proof of anything. Nor is the abscence of proof in something unknowable proof in itself. Belief is based on faith in what you cannot know. Proof is based on evidence which you do know. One cannot "prove" or "disprove "the divinity of any being - or the existence or non-existence of same. 2. The concept that the world is ending soon predates the bible and/or the knowledge of it.Take some time and check out the Mayan calendar and the associated belief that the world will end sometime in December 2012. This predates Columbus by a long time, and therefore is a separate source. It isn't the only other source, but the most commonly known one, and the easiest to get your head around how it is completely separate from the bible. 3. Many people disagree on what is prophesized and what isn't, even when looking at the same text.Honestly, your claim that Katrina is in the Bible doesn't suprise me, as I know lots of people who claim "X" is in the Bible or the writings of Nostradamus or something else, after the fact. The problem is, lots of these things are non-specific, and it's human nature to fit prophecy to what we know has happened. I know that some of what you claim to be in the Bible I disagree is actually in there - there are lots of vague things that people have said prove things. Unlike a number of folks, I've actually looked. For example, realize that the New Testament cannot basically do jack regarding predicting the downfall of the Greeks - because they were already gone - I've heard people use that as a source of prediction, and it's comical. It'd would be like me prdicting a Phillies win in the 2008 World Series, now, and saying I called it. Yes, there are historical figures in it, and events that happened - the question is validity in using it as a predicitive tool, and agreement on understanding what it says. 4. You really need to read things and not just listen to what you are told.Obama's main point about the Middle East has been that our enemy, the A-Q terrorists, are in Pakistan, and we're fighting in Iraq. This is NOT "pull all the troops from the Middle East." There is massive public sentiment to bring the troops home, and the war was botched from the start, partly because of bad planning, and partly because of lies to get us over there. We're there partly because the military-industrial complex could get some more money pumped into it, and certain connected people could profit, partly to avenge an attempt on a prior president's life, and partly to try to bring democracy to the region, and partly about securing Kuwait's oil, and some other reasons as well. If you're going to argue about facts, please have them at least somewhat right. 5. The truly historically bad presidents are usually known to be bad pretty quickly - often before they leave office.George W. Bush is in the running for the 3 worst presidents ever, and that says a lot. We are weaker diplomatically & financially than when he took office, and that says a lot. However, the real problem is how much worse off we are. I am pretty comfortable stating that the US hasn't looked this bad in international politics since at least Hiroshima & Nagasaki - and I'm not even sure that's a fair comparison, since that was in wartime, when were attacked. It's quite possible this is bad as it has ever been for us on the world stage. Diplomatically, the new president had to be an improvement.

In regards to the Mayan Calendar it ends at around the time period u put forward, but this is apparently when our sun goes to the centre of our galaxy, happens every 4000 years, we are in the last stage of the pyramid of mayan teachins one of 'consciousness', dunno if i spelled it right hehe i hope that the world does not end during the period of late 2013, when the mayan calendar ends and our son orbits into the centre of our galaxy, three possibilities ive considered from readings:
1. it really is the end of the world 2. it is a time of great upheavel, the evil is rid from the planet, as society are a wholes quest for the truth and decency comes out to the fore, in a new world, one of compassion and understanding 3. it is a bad time where another world war, or a mass famine or a major incident eg hit by an asteroid, what im trying to say is the third option is one where theyre is a big battle between good and evil, after a dire fight good wins, but there is a massive cost of life, the earth goes forward to a new day, but millions lost to defeat evil
im not sure what is gonna happen when the mayan calendar ends, i just hope that the negativity and evil can be kept to the utmost minimum if not rid entirely.
i guess all u can do is hope and maybe pray

Another very real possibility is that the earth's magnetic poles will flip - as far as geologic time is concerned, we've seen evidence that polaity reversal seems to happen every so often from looking at things like ice cores in Antarctica.
I think there's no way to get rid of negativity - it's coming from all sides as extremists of all stripes try to push on the moderates.

Have you ever thought that the reason why the Mayans stop at that date is because they were just tired and thought that they had went far enough in the future that they were str8 or better yet maybe the guy who was going the calendar fucked the chief wife and then they ate his ass for dinner....No one and I mean no one knows when the world is going to end so to try to guess when its going to happen is really a waste of time......

Amen. Couldn't have said it any better. Let's just live life, be kind to one another, and if we're gone, we're gone. Fuck it.

I've always wondered why this thread was in the most recent posts page. Now, I understand...

i about threw up when i saw that he won..... Now, i don't normally talk in depth, but I have had a very, very bad feeling from the moment i saw Obama. NOW GET THIS STRAIGHT, I DON'T THINK HE IS THE ANTICHRIST. BUT, I believe Christ is coming very soon. Obama has some very good internal policies, but his international policies scare me. If he withdraws ALL troops from the middle east, then that place will go into even more chaos then there already is. Israel is heavily supported by America, and I think the one reason why God has left his hand on America is that reason. I can't put this the way i want to, because words, typing, isn't the same thing that talking is, so it may seem... meh... but this is what i truly believe and i just wantd to share. All haters, feel free to rip my post! kill rog

I agree with that completly, but no one is out of the hand of God's reach, I'm ruled by Jesus Christ and His Father, who I also my Father.... I pray for Barack Obama, he needs people to pray for him, but it worries me when he doesn't mention God in his thank you speech rog, god here. you are my least favorite son.
