I want to get it just for the summer, usually during the school year I'm booked and watch most of my movies on my iPod, I haven't watched a movie on my TV in ages. Is it worth it?

Breaking Bad - Season 1 (***1/2 out of ****) - Story about a New Mexico high school chemistry teacher (Bryan Cranston), who is told that he has an inoperable form of lung cancer. Due to this, he acquires a new sense of fearlessness, striking up a partnership with a former student (Aaron Paul), who is a drug dealer, and elects to cook crystal meth since he knows the chemistry, while his partner knows the business side of the drug trade. Exceptionally smart, well-written show features a dominant, yet powerfully restrained performance from veteran actor Cranston (the dad from "Malcolm in the Middle"). This season was only seven episodes long due to fear that it wouldn't last, since then it has acquired it's own following of fans. Cranston does a terrific job making you feel for this complicated individual, whose wife is currently pregnant with their unexpected child, and whose son suffers from cerebral palsy. Definitely check this show out. Season 2 just ended this week, I'll probably rip through that soon too.

I am like you, the summer months are a bit more relaxed so i decided to try it. The stream to my 360 works nice, but the selection is not so good, but there are some watchable movies for sure. As far as the main DVD mail in part, its really fast, usually i drop it in one morning, and it gets there the next day, then my next one is sent out that day and arrives the next day, so 3 day total. I got the 2 DVD option so i just swap one out at a time so i am never without something to watch. If you factor in the streaming to the CPU and xbox then i would say its worth it at 14 bucks.

Cool, I'm glad the show is coming back, but I still think looping Sarah Chalke back in for one episode wasn't really necessary. I also like that apparently Ted is going to be pulling a Ross from Friends and banging one of his students next year. Yeah, actually, he's going to be pulling a 'Professor Laskey'. Let's keep it real here, shall we?

Anyone ever watch the show "Arrested Development" when it was on?
A friend recommend I check it out, and I watched the three seasons of the show, which aired from 04-06 I think. It's a very good show, it's what jumpstarted Jason Bateman's acting career again. Basically it's about the world's worst and most corrupt family that sticks together for all the wrong reasons. This is as smart a show I've seen however, extremely well written, plotted to perfection, and the acting is good. It's not as funny as say, "The Office", but it's still really funny, basically whenever David Cross is on-screen you can expect it to get real awkward.
I remember hearing it got canceled, and there was an uproar over it because it had a loyal following, but Fox has been known to pull the plug on some good shows (another being "Prison Break").
I'd recommend it, the episodes are only 20 minutes long, it also has running commentary by Ron Howard, which surprisingly adds a lot to the story.

been watching canceled shows online and whatnot on Hulu. John Doe, Kings, and Dresden Files.
I watched John Doe when it came out, but hadn't seen it in a while. A bit cheesier than I remembered, but it was still a good show and could have really taken off in the second season as it seemed to hit it's stride when it was cancelled. For those that don't know, basically he wakes up nude on an island and knows nothing about himself or who he is, yet he knows everything else there is to know. Like how many dents are on a golf ball, how to speak any language, quantum physics, pretty much anything that can be known. He uses that knowledge to help police catch murderers and whatnot while at the same time trying to figure out who or what he is.
Dresden Files is based off the books, but I never read them. He's a wizard, but in today's world. For example his wand is a drum stick and his staff is a hockey stick. He helps the police out, etc kind of like John Doe.
Kings was just recently canceled. It has the best production of the shows. It has religious undertones, but isn't preachy or anything. It's definitely worth checking out. Just search for it on Hulu and they have al 12 episodes. If not for poor marketing it'd probably still be on the air. Ian McShane was great as the king.
I just started watching Eureka. I've only seen like 4 episodes. So far it's entertaining, but nothing spectacular. Colin Ferguson is pretty good as the sheriff though. I don't watch House, but he reminds me of that guy with the dry witty comedy.

I've been watching the show "Weeds" lately, starting from the beginning.
I really don't see what all the fuss is about so far, the first two seasons were average at best. I guess my biggest complaint is that its not really that funny of a show, the sense of humor is hard to detect from time to time. Some of the characters the show wants you to love because they're just so different, but to me they just come across and obnoxious and I have a hard time caring as to what happens to them.
Good news is the third season has picked up a bit, although it's still not a great show in my mind, it is steadily improving. Mary Louise-Parker does a very good job with her character, although at times I feel she could be colored even more. So far the show has had a few pretty good guest starts too, like Martin Donovan, Matthew Modine, and most recently Mary-Kate Olson (who's surprisingly quite good). I guess I'll keep watching, seeing the show just completed its sixth season, maybe it will keep getting better. We'll see....

I would say it's funnier than The Office though. Well, at least a smarter funny than The Office. Arrested Development is one of those comedies that actually started out with a story and then built it's jokes from the story. Shows like The Office, HIMYM (which I love and is my favorite show on TV), Big Bang Theory, etc. think of their jokes and then try to wrap an episode around it. As a result those shows never seem to have a path besides in the premiere and finale episodes. AD is one of the best well-written comedies on the history of modern television. It's got a very sarcastic type of humor but does have slapstick humor in the show as well (com'on, anything Will Arnett does on that show is Michael Scott like).

A show I've recently got into is Mad Men. I read great things about the show and finally decided to check it out. And Mad Men truly deserves all the praise and awards (back to back Golden Globe best drama, 2008 Emmy, TCA, Best Writing in the Emmys/GGs) that it has received.
Mad Men is an interesting blend of drama and soap. The show truly is well-written on all levels. From the character development and relationships to historical context to gentleman's club humor, the writers intricately tell a story of a man's two sides of life, work and personal. It's nice to see that there are still truly talented and intelligent script writers in the days of cardboard cutout plot lines.
It is also a visually stunning show to watch with a clever use of lighting and colors that really bring a genuine 60s dynamic to the show. While none of the actors were household actors before the show (Jon Hamm & January Jones play the show's main couple), they are all well-cast and talented individuals.
By the way, I think this is going to be the first fall season where I will not watch any pilot. Quite simply, I have not seen anything that is worth watching (NCIS:LA is about as close as it gets)... anyone have a suggestion?

Entourage has been good this season. But I don't know how I feel about the fact it's now almost 5 different storylines going on at the same time. Every character has their own thing going on now and the only thing Vince seems to be good for is fucking really hot chicks...
Mad Men is still excellent. It's unbelievable how good the show is.
Monk has found its original formula and is much improved from the previous season. They seem determined to end the series with a strong final season. Psych has had a pretty good season as well.
I can't wait for most shows to come back this week though... It's Always Sunny had a hilarious premiere and Fringe started off the season pretty well (not as well as they ended last season though)

I've heard both are excellent, and I love F/X when it comes to TV shows.
