Good premiere, as expected. Cool to see Acevada from "The Shield" as the guy Jack's helping in the first two episodes. Is it just me or does the blonde chick whose going to marry Freddie Prinze Jr.'s character look like a taller, less attractive version of Brittany Murphy? Weird.... But back to the show. It was a good opener, probably going to be another fun season. It's still my favorite show even though I'm not sure how many more things they can do with it. I'll say they should finish this season, then do one more and finish the series off. Yeah, I thought that guy looked really familiar...I wasn't sure but that is cool to see him in there. Yeah, I agree with you...this is the 8th season, right?

yeha, i tried to watch 24 once, but it seemed kinda lame IMO. i have NO IDEA how that shit has been going 8 seasons. Watch the first couple of seasons dude, seasons one and two especially are virtually flawless, and season one especially throws in a wicked couple of twists in it's finale. It's in an 8th season because people just love Keifer Sutherland's selfless and intense portrayal of a man who only knows how to do one thing well. People like to think that some agents within our government are as dedicated and focused as Jack Bauer, sadly, as the show forcefully demonstrates, Jack is a unique character that sometimes has to break his own government's rules in order to sustain the safety of the American people. That's the best reason I could come up with as it's longevity.

They had so many chances to off Freddy Prinze Jr.'s character!!! Why didn't they get rid of that no talent bum?!?! So far this season has been a bit lackluster. The side plot with Dana (Katie Sackhoff) seems forced to give her more screen time. Even though I really like Sackhoff, unlike that POS Prinze, it just detracts from the pacing of the show and the main plot line. Renee's complete 180 is also a little less than believable. Hopefully it picks up.

So its finally here, Lost!!!
I know the first 4 min of the episode are floating around on the interwebz, but I have refrained from watching. So if you have seen it, dont mention that shit on here!!
Aside from that, I really hope they deliver tonight. I am sure a lot of people will be tuning in, lots of people who caught maybe the first couple of seasons then left the show during the 3rd season(totally understandable). Anywho, if they come out with a bitching episode tonight they could grab a nice audience, however if they come out with a super confusing, poses more questions than are answered type of episode the critics could run them into the ground.
My prediction, not really a SPOILER, b/c i have no idea, just based on what we have seen so far, is that they will have all been transported back to the correct time, with all the other survivors, with faux Locke. Also, Sayid will prob die, i mean he has a stomach gun shot wound. I fully expect the opening sequence to try and totally fucking trick us. Most likely it will start with them all on the plane, thus insinuating that its about to have all never happened or something. I just dont see them going that way though.

Can't wait (to download the episode since it will on show in the US). The only thing I hate about Lost, is the loooooooooooong ass breaks between seasons that makes you lose the excitment you had at the end of the previous one. But I'm sure I'll regain it after the 1st episode.

Watched Lost Seasons 1-4. Missed all of Season 5. Should I watch the recap/preview show (are they doing that as usual to catch people up) and then roll with 6, or should I just watch all of 5 on DVD and then 6 later on?

I'd say watch all of 5 and then 6 but it depends on if you want to be up to date or how much you have liked it so far.
And K, they don't show it everywhere because I'm sure that since it's a very popular show world wide, the network ask other networks lots of money for the episodes so the local networks rather wait for a price they can afford.

I would watch the re-cap, then watch the premiere tonight. Season 5 was cool, but having watcehd 1-4 you should be able to follow after the re-cap. then you can watch season 5 on DVD in the next couple of weeks.

SPOILER ALERT**********************************
so the 1st episode was kinda up and down. First of, if this alternate universe/reality thing continues like it seems it will, I have seen this before, it was called Sliding Doors. Second, if things continue how the are and Terry Oquinn doesnt win the golden globe for best actor the fix is in. He is killing being both Locke and Smoke monster in the same episodes. Now I understand why they went after him in the beginning and paid him.
So, I am guessing these new people are the people we have been hearing whisper the whole time, and are the original "others"?
Smokey said he was glad to see Richard out of those chains? WTF, did Richard come on the slave ship from Tunisia? he looks egyptian enough i suppose. Where the hell is smokey taking Richard?
And is Sayid really alive?

Terry O'Quinn's performance is the strongest in the show - he flat out brings it every episode.
Really love what they're doing with him so far, although I'll admit what they did in the second episode is getting a little to "Indiana Jones"-ey for me. But we'll see. Both okay episodes, nothing extraordinary, but pretty good.
